I have the whole day free to knit ( and block) today. I am currently working on finishing an orange Cable hat for a Clemson University student to wear to Tiger games this fall. I have to block an ice blue one I just finished and put it together. I really enjoy blocking for some reason- Is that weird? Anyway, it is monsoon raining here and I will be sitting by my picture windows knitting and watching movies all day. Hubby and I are renting scary movies tonight and ordering pizza. We will be watching The Ring and Darkness Falls. I am a scary movie fanatic, and have done some of my best knitting while watching them. ;}

In other news I am joing the Tank-a-long form Chrisknits site ( I will be making the Ucan2shell from Chicknits. Have a great day all!!

Ya know, I've noticed aver the past several months since I have been knitting, that I am always protecting my hands and fingers. I make sure I don't get a paper cut, or injure my hands. One of my deputies at the Sheriffs Office was attempting to show me a submission manuever he used on someone's finger, and I screamed--"no, I have to knit with that finger!!" The whole communications dept. and several other deputies burst into laughter. One deputy said: " Oh, be careful with granny, she has to knit some socks." I do not take any offense to that,as I am only 27 and they really love to see what I am knitting at work.

I have decided my next project to take along is going to be the pleated child's dress in the Debbie Bliss Cotton Knits book. It will be done with Cotton-Ease by Lion Brand, as it is readily available to me, and I have heard washes very well. My "at-home-concentration project" will be the Creatures of the Reef shawl.

Well, off to finish up some chores so I can spend the rest of this lovely Saturday knitting!!

I'm baaaaccckkkkk!! I am knitting, happy and healthy!! I am currently knitting baby hats and some matching baby booties for a friend of mine who recently adopted. I am waiting on my order from Fiddlesticks Knitting ( to come in. I have ordered the Creatures from the Reef shawl. I absolutely love this shawl. I was interested in the Seascape shawl, but the Creatures from the Reef is more appealing to me. I am excited about being able to start a lace project. I am interested in something challenging,and some vacation knitting. I will be going to the beach for a week and this shawl will be fun to work on in the cool night air on the porch of the house were staying in. I have not been knitting for a while b/c I have been so busy, but I am glad for the break, as I am really excited about knitting again!!

Well, I know it has been forever since I posted b/c I am a slacker. I do not have much to report other than still knitting on socks. I have pretty much resigned myself to sock knitting and baby bootie knitting for the spring and summer. I really enjoy small, portable projects. I have not been knitting as much since the weather has warmed up, b/c I have been so busy working outside. I am still kind of in a funk pesonally. I have some issues that need dealt with, but I just don't have the energy. The war coverage is battering me also. So, I have pretty much decided to stop watching it. I fully support the troops and what they are doing to defend this great country, however. I will not go any further with my political views here- as they seem to be not widely popular. Anyhoo, just letting you know I'm still kickin'. See ya later!!!!!!!!!!

WOOHOO!! I did a gauge swatch!! I never do gauge swatches because I always knit with whatever the pattern calls for and have never substituted yarns before. (This is not to say I shouldn't have done a gauge swatch b/c I have been "off" many times). But...Remember when my LYS had that great 1$ a skein sale? Well, I got the new FCEN mag today, and it has a top in it that I just love. It is on page 31. The very simply knit summer top with the slit sleeves. I went to my yarn stash-picked out my Victoria yarn by S.Charles in powder blue, and made a gauge swatch. It came out perfect. I did not have to "buy" new yarn or needles for a project, I ALREADY HAD IT!! I am stoked b/c this has never happened to me before!! And, I have enough yarn to make one in blue and one in white, which will look cute at the beach with some cut off blue jean capris!! Well, off to clean house so I can knit during Survivor!!

I apologize for my absence. I have been in a funk lately. Knitting has been non-existant, and I have been not feeling myself. I am now feeling much better, due in part to the weather. Finally....SUNSHINE!!!!!!!! I have been so depressed just from the gloomy weather we've been having around here. Anyway...enough of my whining.I am now knitting socks out of Regia 6-ply (which I love--perfect weight for socks). I am also going to get the yarn for the cardigan in Vogue Knitting.(It's the pale pink one, with the ruffles on it). I think it is really delicate and feminine. I have to go and get the Rowan Cotton in NC, but I can't go till next week b/c tomorrow is Stitch and Bitch at the Cafe'. My LYS is closed for 3 WEEKS b/c the shop owner is in Europe. Can you say YARN WITHDRAWAL? Oh well, Must go now as I am at work. Just wanted the few who read this to know I'm still here and back to knitting.

Today,I got to be off of work due to the fact that I have a computer training class this week at the Sheriff's Office. It was cancelled due to ICE! WOOOYEAH!!! I am working on first shift all week and that sucks. I hate having to get up early in the mornings-yuck. I really love working my second shift hours-fun and exciting,and I have my whole day free till 3pm, and I usually stay up till about 3-4am when I get home each night whilst the hubby is at work. (great knitting time). I have started my second pair of socks, and am loving every minute of making them.. This pair is a deep hunter green with flecks of red and navy mixed in. I have ordered some Regia 6ply in Crazy Movie colorway. I wish it would hurry up and come in. I also finished one bootie of a pair of pure angora baby bunny slippers. They are adorable. Have to finish the second one by Sunday- have a shower to go to.

JOE MILLIONAIRE----- WOW, I knew he would get $$$$ I'm glad he picked Zora,since it all worked out well. Wonder how the Sarah-tramp is taking getting DUMPED!!!!!!
